As Operations Director you…
…have a fundamental impact on our overall performance. Why? Because we’re a services business, and you are leading our EMEA service delivery teams. Great service is provided when our customers feel they are getting easy and proactive communication for complex cloud issues. You enable this with passionate technology experts, who are empowered with the right tools and a culture of customer communication.
…develop and coach a team of around 20 passionate technology experts, who add value during detailed technical analysis and design, project delivery, and 24x7 management.
…lead the direction for excellent team culture, with DevOps and the right KPIs to drive operational excellence and customer engagement.
…work closely with your peer operations directors in the USA and Singapore to assure excellent 24x7 follow-the sun support.
…team up with the commercial staff to make sure we can deliver on customer and internal expectations, and optimize company results in terms of customer satisfaction and growth potential.
…are a budget holder for your area, driving continuous improvement of customer experience and/or cost reduction.
…are a member of the EMEA management team contributing to the overall company strategy.
More about the role…
You lead a team of project managers and who ensure effective delivery and onboarding of new key customers and key internal projects. You have a support team that handles 1st and 2nd line support that have a big impact on customer satisfaction, responding to monitoring or customer alerts and taking action. You manage a team of 3rd line experts who take care of network, cloud platform management, internal automation and procedures. You foster knowledge exchange between subject matter experts globally. You assist where team leaders need escalation handling and represent the company towards customer C-level contacts as needed.
What makes you special…
You combine passion for technology with behavioral and thought leadership that motivates teams of technical experts to take the extra mile. Your communication skills inspire others to become a great team to work with, both internally and towards customers. You are fanatic about quality rather than quantity despite business pressure, while keeping customer expectation in mind. You have a bachelor’s degree in Business or IT and 5 years of work experience within a similar job role. You have successfully managed operational service teams with a strong DevOps background. You are an excellent communicator in Dutch, English, and one additional language (German or French), and call the Netherlands your home.
In addition, you have in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Dynamics solutions, and general cloud solutions, and know SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS like the back of your hand. You're a team player with can-do attitude, and ability to handle stressful situations during day and (when needed) night time.

…deciding which projects and people get prioritized next week given conflicting requirements.
…running through last month operational performance and KPIs to distill learning and actions going forward.
…helping the support team in the Netherlands manage communications towards customer C-level during of a major security incident.
…leading a 2-day workshop to decide next year’s improvement on operations systems and tooling with relevant stakeholders.
…participating in an internal training day to get engineers certified in the latest Azure developments.
…visiting one of your top 20 customers as part of our customer engagement approach and and agreeing points of improvement .
